'Pay to park' and (multistorey) car parks
Certain areas of the city require payment to park on the street. Almere also has a large number of (multistorey) car parks where you can leave the car. In the town centre (Centrum Stad) and Almere Buiten these are not (no longer) free.
Blue zone
There are designated 'blue zones' in an attempt to keep parking to a minimum in certain areas. The maximum time allowed to park is stated on nearby parking posts and the driver uses a special blue disk inside the car.
Bike racks
Almere has lots and lots of free, dry (and some guarded) bike racks, all around town. Come by bike!
Disabled
There are disabled parking places all around Almere. Just display the disabled logo on the vehicle.
P+R (Park & Ride)
There are a number of Park and Ride areas within Almere. These are convenient for drivers to park and travel further via bus or train, simplifying the use of public transport too – and makes for less traffic jams!
