Around and about Almere by horse
There are several commercial stables in Almere and all offer guided hacks. Staatsbosbeheer (the forestry commission) maintains all treks in Almere and they are well supervised. Almeerderhout, Buitenhout and Pampushout all have various trails and there is a terrific run for the ponies at Waterlandsepad to give them a good gallop. A nice wade can be had too, just further up from there. Treks are all marked on the 'Alles Almere!' Map. By the way, although we have all these treks, it is not possible and indeed not permitted to travel the trails by horse and cart combinations.
