Traverse Almere via canal with a motor boat or a canoe. Check out the Noorder Lakes in a motor launch or a dinghy, hire a canoe or a sailing boat or book yourself a tour of the waterways.

Sailing

Almere borders on the Gooimeer and the IJsselmeer. There's some great sailing to be had in the city's own lakes too though!

You can be kept happy for quite a few days, just canoeing around Almere. Lovely, signposted routes and plenty of jetties to tie off at. Great stuff!

VVV Almere has developed a handy map for touring the waterways and simplifying the navigation of Almere. You will find nautical information here like moorings, lock opening times, and bridge heights as well as info. on the best place to launch your own boat. But also important things to know like, where to find cafés and restaurants on the water and where best to moor your boat if you want to do some shopping. There are 3 routes all mapped out for you too! It only costs €1.00 from the VVV but is actually FREE from the lock-keep in Almere Haven if you happen to go through there. Or download the app to your I-phone or I-Pad.
