Stadshart
Almere's City Centre (Stadshart) is very striking, very modern and very eclectic. With its 400 shops that include big brands like ZARA, Esprit and Mexx the average visitor thinks they've died and gone to heaven with wide pedestrian precincts and big, roomy stores. Our new 'stadshart' has already won various international prizes for new shopping malls and is one of the largest in The Netherlands. It is very accessible and has lots and lots of parking space – and it's open seven days a week (Sundays from 12:00)!

The various zones have their own outdoor markets:
Stad: Wednesdays & Saturdays 09:00 – 16:00
Haven: Fridays 09:00 – 12:30
Buiten: Thursdays 09:00 – 12:30
Country Park The Kemphaan
There is a 'farmer's market' at the Kemphaan every Saturday from 09:30 – 13:00. Here you can buy biologically cultivated items such as potatoes, fruit and veg., dairy products, bread, meat, dried foods and plants and flowers. For more information see here
Shopping Centres (malls)
Almere has various shopping centres spread throughout the city and right in the various districts. The zone centres of Almere Buiten and Almere Haven are basically just full of shops while in amongst the houses in the various districts there are supermarkets, local health centres and various other small shops. This means that there is usually a grocer's or a baker's or such like, nearby.
Doemere
Almere Buiten has a huge indoor furniture boulevard. You can find practically anything here - the whole complex, with more than fifty commercial premises, has a very varied bunch of shops to check out for both indoors and out. There are shops for electronics, accessories, furniture, sports, kitchens and a garden centre, as well as diverse builder's markets. Doemere is also open on the first Sunday of the month. Right next to Doemere is the 'Woondȏme – a furniture warehouse with 8 floors of nationally and internationally acclaimed furniture to explore.
